On October 13, 2008, Cpl. Scott G. Dimond was killed in Afghanistan.
Prior to his service in the New Hampshire National Guard, Cpl. Dimond served in the Franklin Police Department for 18 years. He was married and had 4 children.

Sugar Hill Police Chief Jose Pequeno was very seriously wounded in Iraq in March, 2006.
Fire Chief Allan Clark and the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police are working with hundreds of concerned citizens to organize family support efforts.
